I remember it was my first time to be invited at Rotary Club of Mzizima to speak by president Ambrose. The week before i was supposed to speak, i went to see him and explained what my business is all about. So he offered me a chance to be the guest speaker for next meeting.
Well, the day reached and i was really trembling because it was my first time for a guy who is starting out to stand before the group of big executives and business owners to speak. It was on my Monday at 5pm the meeting was to be held.
When i entered in the conference room i found quite a number of people and my rates of fear increased so high to an extent i went out to get some air, i was sweating in Air conditioner imagine. When i was out my thoughts were telling me to abort the opportunity. Suddenly President Ambrose followed me outside and asked me while smiling "Son, are you okay?!", he knew i was afraid.
In my mind i wanted to call off the speaking but something whispered to me that "did you come all this way just to give up?". It took me so long to create that opportunity because Rotarians are so busy people with many charity programs to handle which needs a lot of attention but all that attention they decided to give it to me. If i called off it would have been so disappointing to Ambrose and the club in general. So i told myself that i didn't come all the way here to give up it doesn't matter how much am shaking but am going to do it and show Rotary what i got. So i told Ambrose "am okay let's do this", he said "alright son you have 15 minutes use them wisely and make me proud".
So it was my time to stand and speak. I stood for second without speaking so that i could gained my cool. That 15 minutes speech turned out to be the most powerful in the room. I spoke with courage and determination and the all room got up and gave a continous applause. One indian business lady came to me and said "wow..!! i have never seen such inspiring speech i have no more words to say that giving you a big hug", she hugged me.
Another man called Luckson gave me a hand shake and said "it was so inspiring,and everyone in the room will agree that you live on what you talked about and your body expression showed that". Finally Ambrose came and said "I knew you would do it best am proud and impressed let's go home son".
It was so happy day for me to see that everyone was inspired by my speech, but i discovered that the reason all that energy captured in the room it's because i decide not to give up. When you make a decision of becoming something in the world you have to understand that challenges are waiting for you on the way.
Many people want to become successful in life but they don't want challenges. Challenges are not there o pull us down but they build us to fit the person we want to be.
The only thing you can get to the end of your dream or vision is by never giving up no matter what you pass through. I have made my mind so long ago that in my dictionary of life there is no word called "giving up".
Is those who never give up get hold of their dreams and change the world. You have been persueing something in life for so long and now you are tired remember this "before you give up remember why you started" and this "always the moment you want to give up is the moment you are very close to your miracle".
NEVER EVER EVER EVER GIVE UP !!!
