COURSE 101: 6 PILLARS OF BECOMING SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENEUR.

     Subtitle: UNDERSTANDING ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Hey, buddy how are you doing?..Am so excited to start this blog course which will tremendously impact your entrepreneurship skills and persipective. And am also so greatful for you to take time joining me in this course to change your life. Today we are going to set a foundation for the whole course before we step into major stuffs but i want to bring something into your attention that on this whole course we are going to focus on YOU as the business because business is 99% you and 1% practicle. I know you have been in so many business seminars and probably you are tired of hearing same thing every time, well this one is different because have realized most of trainers teach people on how to deploy business practices and methodologies which is good but they have neglected the fact that however best the practices are but if you have not built you is not going to work because big businesses you see today like microsoft, apple, google and facebook are by products of their founders who built themselves really well and engaged the practices second. So am going to share with you various principals which have helped me so much in my business of speaking and am sure they will help you too if only you apply them.

Okay, you ready for the introduction?!..let's do this

One of the lessons i learnt in life is that if you want to be effective in any area of life you have to have an understanding on that area. Understanding comes from knowledge that's why is strongly recommended that  success requires being life time student. Your passion for knowledge must be higher everyday. Understanding is very essential to anything if you want not short comings. Ignorance is an opposite of understanding, when you are ignorant about something it simply implies that you lack understanding.
And the danger of lacking an understanding will cause 2 terrible outcomes
  1. Violation of principals which causes the malfunction of the thing
  2. It will destroy the thing due to abnormal use
That's what happens when you decide to become an entrepreneur without understanding first, you will violate business principals and  cause your business to die. And that's why many people start their own venture, they stay for may be 1 year and suddenly they close the business why?..because they have lack of understanding.

So this is for start up entrepreneur and those who want to start up again, you better listen carefully. Before you go any further in entrepreneurship you have to understand these 2 principal questions to help you get a clear version of you. These questions are,
  1. WHO IS AN ENTREPRENEUR?!
  2. WHAT BUSINESS IS AN ENTREPRENEUR IN?!
Let's go little deeper,

  1. WHO IS AN ENTREPRENEUR?!
This is one of the best questions i always ask people who want to start their own businesses. You will be amazed by sad answers they will give you. I have to realize that almost 100% of people who start their won businesses the first motive is money making and i was one of them too. This is very reason why most businesses die for a short time after being launched because the foundational motive is very wrong. When i know your motive then i know whether you are going to last or not. Yes we all want to make money in business  but that shouldn't not be our foundation as entrepreneurs. Now this is the definition of an entrepreneur.

ENTREPRENEUR is a person who identifies a problem and provides a solution and adds value to people's lives.

A true entrepreneur is a problem solver not a money maker. This has been causing many people to fail because they don't understand that all businesses in the world are for solving problems in the society. For instance look at Banks solving the problem of keeping your money safe so that they can't rot in your basement or avoiding being eaten by mice. You can't be a true entrepreneur without clearly understanding which problem you are trying to solve and what value do you add to people's lives. So before you get over whelmed step back and ask yourself what problem are you solving and what value are you adding to people.

These are two questions which will always make you in clear focus and achieve massive impact in your business. Problem is most entrepreneurs have no heart to serve others instead they want to use others to get what they want. This is very bad mindset to operate with in business because an entrepreneur understands the principal of RESPROSITY that anything which takes more than it gives eventually it will cause the giving part to die. What do i mean by that?..Money is by product of service and value you add in people's lives. So if you want money you just serve them with everything quality you can and change their lives. At first when i was starting out money was my greatest motive but as i kept on learning in business my motive changed to service to others. That's why to me you might not pay me to come and speak but i will still do it joyfully because my fulfillment is to see people lives transformed. Oh God i love serving people so much actually i can do it all day long.

EXERCISE
- Take your note book and a pen. Take your time  to think whatever you want to start and ask yourself these 2 questions to get clarity of your business
  • What problem am i solving?
  • What value do i add to people's lives?
The clear you are the more effective you will become.

2. WHAT BUSINESS IS AN ENTREPRENEUR IN?!
Well this is another area where many people get confused. If you are not careful with this part you might produce quality service which won't sell anywhere because no one needs it. Have come to realize that when you ask people in what business they are in all they will tell you is physical products business. Let me ask you this IS IT LOGICAL TO BUY A CAR FOR 1 MILLION DOLLAR AND STILL BE PROUD ABOUT IT WHILE YOU KNOW IT WILL WRECK ANY DAY?..

Answer is no it's not logical at all. It's because of emotional feeling that you have the most expensive car.The reason people purchase what they purchase is all based on emotions. A true entrepreneur will focus on selling EMOTIONAL PRODUCTS no matter what he sells because is emotion which drives someone to buy something from you having a feeling that your products are more good than someone's else product. So all entrepreneurs are in business of selling emotional products. For example

A realtor is in business of selling safety not real estates
A shoe company is in business of selling comfort not shoes
An insurance company is in business of selling security not insurance
A Rolls Royce company is in business of selling pride not cars

So you can see if you keep your mindset that way as a business man you will always attract many people to come to you because they know you have emotional needs they want. So i want you also to answer this question on your note book based on what you want to start as a business.

  • In what business am i in?
Let's meet in part II. Thanks....!!!
